“Within my creative movement “Flow”, I continue the cooperation with poet Pāvils Raudonis, who represents my creative works in poetry: triolets, haiku poems and sonnets. Poetry is rhythm and word, fine art is colour and form; they complement each other and form the complete artwork that addresses the viewer of the exhibition and the viewer becomes part of this mutual flow created by colours and poetry,” says Pēteris Sidars.
Flow is like the stream of a river. And the works of art – paintings, sculptures, objects, installations, poems – are like boats floating in the river. Each wave and each breath of wind interacts with the boat, changing its course and direction. You just have to surrender yourself to the united stream and thus join it – the same stream. The exhibition flows and changes along with each viewer, who is taken through the rapid turns by the artworks, leaving impressions in the viewer’s consciousness. The viewer has also been in the stream – the stream of art – where the boundaries between arts, artists and viewers are blurred. Only the flow remains.
Sculptural abstract paintings of coloured plastic fusions – plastic, as one of the synthetic materials of the modern age, is an integral part of our material culture. Given the physical properties and the variety of plastic, as well as the extent of its use, plastic will remain for many thousands of years, becoming the mark of the era. As a material it could also become the carrier of human aesthetic value in art. Plastics make it possible to prioritise the material itself and the technological process.
