Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will meet again with the Indian violinist icon, composer Dr. Lakshminaryana Subramaniam, with whom the orchestra even toured in India. The concert will feature his own compositions Turbulence Concerto, which was allready performed in India, as well as Mahatma Symphony, dedicated to the Indian freedom fighter Gandhi – this will be the Europe premiere. For contrast, for the first time there will be performed the Latvian Symphony by Latvian composer Kārlis Lācis. There are themes and ethnic motifs of Latvian folk songs used in the symphony. History of Latvia, state-building and its centenary in the half-hour symphony are intertwined with the current flow of Latvian time.
