Remarkable new composers and bright performers from the countries of the Baltic Sea region meet in this programme to present the New Baltic Sound in specially composed new pieces.
References to jazz can be often heard in the melodic music of Swedish composer Anna-Lena Laurin. The scores by Finn Sebastien Fagerlund hold something of the figurativeness of impressionism, but Lithuanian Raminta Šerkšnytė touches with the expression of neo-Classicism and neo-Romanticism.
