Professor Ilze Valce, the artistic director of the concert, says: “The concert will feature the most beautiful Latvian and Lithuanian song festival songs. As the Baltic student song festival "Gaudeamus" was cancelled this year, this concert will serve as a prelude to next year's upcoming student song festival in Vilnius, sung by the Lithuanian University Choir, and a rhyme for the Kurzeme Song Festival in Dobele where participated choirs from Liepāja. We are especially pleased with the presence of the Guest of Honor - Professor Edgars Račevskis, who has been a lecturer at the University of Liepaja for several years, as well as a multiple participant, chief conductor and artistic director of the Baltic Student Song Festival "Gaudeamus". He has been an educator and still is a source of inspiration for many of us! ”
The special guest of the concert will be the prominent Latvian conductor, Professor Edgars Račevskis, who has celebrated his 85th anniversary this year.
