We have created a cinema day within the Liepāja Art Forum at the locally-beloved Culture House Wiktorija in collaboration with the Rīga International Film Festival. Three powerful auteur films about themes of eternity and humanity, which will definitely leave no heart untouched in the age of loneliness and indifference.
CINEMA program in collaboration with RĪGA IFF:
- September 25 at 3 p.m. About Endless
- September 25 at 5. p.m. Nowhere Special
- September 25 at 9 p.m. Corpus Christi
The first screening will be Roy Andersson’s 2019 film About Endless, which was nominated for a Golden Lion at the 76th annual Venice International Film Festival and received a Silver Lion for Best Director. The Swedish director, whose unique signature is already considered a genre of its own, is no pessimist, yet he stares into be truth of the endless story – life is a tragedy with no winners. A person only treats what they have with due respect and care if they clearly comprehend the fragility and vulnerability of all things that exist.
