In October 2023, the Liepāja concert hall "Lielais dzintars" will host the third round of the VIII Jāzeps Vītols International Piano Competition, where the best young pianists will perform the competition programme together with the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra conducted by Atvars Lakstīgala.

Among the laureates and diploma winners of the competition were such well-known and already popular pianists as Juris Žvikovs, Sanita Šablovska, Jānis Zilbers, Toms Ostrovskis, Raimonds Petrauskis, Elīna Bērtiņa, Andrejs Osokins, Arta Arnicāne, Antoņina Suhanova and Iļja Domņins.
