The mono-drama Awareness illuminates one person’s journey inwards. It shows the human experience, from the depths of the physical body to the elusive states of the mind, offering a path with the ebbs and tides of emotion painting a colorful landscape.Krists Auznieks invites the listeners to immerse into a meditative world of sound. It is created not only by music but also a path towards mindfulness expressed through the ancient Buddhist text written in the Pāli language, with Evija Vēbere’s ethereal voice forming an encompassing spiritual space.
Artist Katrīna Neiburga will transform the hall into an extraordinary space for the soloist and Trio Art-i-Shock, and original video projections will enhance the opera's libretto, adding a powerful visual dimension to the soundscape.
This transcendent staging is the first opera in Pāli. The libretto is based on the Satipatthana Sutta, a Buddhist philosophy concept regarding the ever-changing nature of the world. It can become a transformative experience for each listener to find unique and deeply inspiring wisdom. The mono-opera was nominated for the 2023 Grand Music Award as the Chamber Performance of the Year.
