Performers:
Piano Quartet Quadra (Arvīds Zvagulis – violin, Pēteris Trasuns – viola, Kārlis Klotiņš – cello, Rihards Plešanovs – piano)
Next to the Piano Quartet by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart the concert programme will consist of two masterpieces of 20th and 21st Century chamber music. Chosen compositions are with undeniable high artistic quality and therefore will speak to both the listeners who do not have any experience with contemporary music and those who are refined lovers of Avant-garde. Special emphasis will be on the Piano Quartet by the Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks that is one of the greatest examples of its genre not only in Latvia but also in the context of the music of the whole world.
The Piano Quartet Quadra was founded in the Autumn of 2011. The repertoire of the ensamble consists mostly of all the Latvian contemporary music. With great success the Quadra has given concerts in several cities of Latvia.
