Performers: Liene Circene (piano), Ivars Bezprozvanovs (cello).
Pianist Liene Circene has received The Grand Music Award of Latvia and won several international competitions in Ukraine, Poland, France and Great Britain. She has given concerts all across the Europe, Canada, USA and Russia. Liene Circene has performed with Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC orchestras. Liene’s programmes possess an appealing conceptualism, she has the ability to probe the content of the music and to present it with passion and generosity. For three years she has lived in France but now she resides in Sigulda. Presently Liene is working as a piano teacher and a teacher of music at the Sigulda Music School and Carl Orff’s Music School in Riga.
Cellist Ivars Bezprozvanovs has worked in the Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra from 1991 until 1993. Since 1997 he is the concertmaster of the cello group of the Latvian National Opera Orchestra. He is a teacher at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School where he gives his musical knowledge for the next generations. Alongside the work as a teacher and an orchestra artist, he has an intensive performing life both as a solo and chamber ensemble artist. Collaboration with the composer Pēteris Plakidis has been particularly productive because he invited Ivars to play with his ensemble “Transatlantic trio”. In the recent years Ivars has been performing together with Valdis Jancis, Aldis Liepiņš, Artūrs Ozoliņš, Jurijs Savkins and other great musicians.
