“Flow of life, stream of time, pulsating sound of the strings of life…and we share the same boat with a certain person in this flow of life – the reality of art and music that stops this flow for a moment and saves us from existential puzzles, creating beauty from the best and most exciting desires and wildest, most delicate emotions, to take us in the harmonious swirl of contrasts. This unstoppable desire to get closer to people, to belong to them creates songs that when heard and experienced by coevals, become almost like folk songs of this era. Ieva Akuratere and Juris Kulakovs in a boat of music, adorned with the oars of songs... may the “Gandrīz tautasdziesma” begin!”

The first part of the concert will provide the most distinguished excerpts from Juris Kulakovs “Mistērijas par Rīgu”, Veidenbaums cycle, cantata “Vēstules uz bruģa” and cantata “Sarkanais vilciens”, performances, rock operas, compositions of instrumental music etc.

Ieva Akuratere, in a white dress and playing a white guitar, will sing the Latvian folk song “Kas kait Rīgas meitiņām”, her song “Vanags” and other compositions.

The second part of the concert – greatest hits of the group “Pērkons”, including “Zaļā dziesma”, “Slidotava”, “Labu vakar”, “Dziesma par sapumpuroto zaru”, “Gandrīz tautasdziesma”, “Mana dienišķā dziesma” and many others.
