Contemporary art exhibition "The Depths"
On the 29th of January 2016 a new art venue called Civita Nova will be opened with a group show that is going to be the first of a series of exhibitions held in the Concert Hall Great Amber and Liepāja city throughout the year.
With works by Latvian artists, combined under the title “The Depths”, viewers will be warmly welcomed to immerse within pre-undefined depths – gaze high up into space, dive deep into the sea, get lost in the outermost corners of a shed and the bottomless paths of the pages of history – indulge a certain way of escapism – call it as you wish!
Here the immaterial turns into material; the imagination into reality – the harsh into romanticism incorporated within a perfect form.
Up until spring the citizens and guests of Liepāja will have the chance to get to know the work by four sculptors – Aigars Bikše (1969), Andris Eglītis (1981), Gļebs Panteļejevs (1965) and Olga Šilova (1966).
Curators: Andris Vītoliņš, Elīna Sproģe
Arrangement: Raimonds Kalējs
Place: The Civita Nova art gallery
The exhibition will be open to visitors between 29 January and 19 March.
