The Concerto for Piano and Orchestra composed by Clara Schumann is a masterpiece of the Romantic era and one of the most beautiful piano concertos in the entire history of classical music. It is noteworthy that composer Clara Wieck, future wife of the composer Robert Schumann, has finished her three-movement piano concerto on 1 September 1835, 12 days before her 16th birthday.
The audience will be able to appreciate the melodic richness and technical mastery of this work in the interpretation of the virtuoso pianist Lauma Skride, while Guntis Kuzma will take his place at the conductor's desk of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra.
