THE END OF THE SEASON OF LIEPĀJA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

14. MAY 18.00

Saturday
2022

At the closing concert of the season led by the main conductor Gintars Rinkevičs Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will offer the audience classical music by the great minds – Anton Bruckner and Sergei Prokofiev, which is both admired and still considered to be a very technically challenging work.

Daumants Liepiņš, one of the leading Latvian pianists, is going to be the soloist at the concert.

Bruckner's Symphony No.3 is dedicated to the German composer Richard Wagner and is therefore known as the “Wagner Symphony”. This work opens a series of masterpieces in which Brunker's creativity reveals the composer's monumental abilities.

Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No.2 premiered in 1913 with the composer himself playing the piano, and it is still considered as one of the most technically challenging piano concerts, and only few pianists are able to play this work properly.
