There are linguists who say that a metaphor is not a mere decoration of literary language, but quite the opposite: it weaves through our everyday thoughts and is rooted in a person’s bodily experience.

The dance performances created by IevaKrish also seem to be bodily metaphors expressed through the rhythm of gestures and movement and ascetic, clear form lines. These scenic metaphors, these dance characters, the pattern and sequence of steps are inquisitive, they interrogate the complexity of the human being. They are most likely not to provide us with any answers, but, from the starting point and until the end of movement they still manage to tell us something significant.

In Labrys, like in their previous performances, IevaKrish try to find ways for art to be experienced from within. This time performers move around the seated audience, and, in turn, audience members turn around their axis, and consequently all mentioned participate in both: observing as well as creating choreography. Composer Jēkabs Nīmanis, who has constructed a beautiful wall of sound for this labyrinth and dance stage together with programmer Pāvils Jurjāns, has reached new horizons of abstraction.
