Maestro Raimonds Pauls has created such diverse music that the scale and spectrum of his creativity is nearly inconceivable. As we listen to, experience and perform his creations, we can feel the presence of Pauls, heard in his particular, characteristic keystrokes.
The Maestro’s melodies resonate with listeners and performers of all generations. To celebrate the composer’s 90th birthday, the Great Amber stage will unite the Latvian Radio Choir and singers of regional choirs, the Latvian Radio Big Band, and the Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga with conductor Sigvards Kļava, pianists Matīss Žilinskis and Rihards Plešanovs, as well as actor Artūrs Skrastiņš and singer Daumants Kalniņš. We will explore the many facets of the Maestro’s work and approach the composer through his music, because Raimonds Pauls is not a mere personm, but the embodiment of an entire era of music both in Latvia and abroad.Artists:
