A musical puppet and mask show.
“The Nutcracker” is the first large-scale joint project between the Liepāja Puppet Theater and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra. This musical puppet and mask show for preschool and elementary school children is inspired by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann’s fairy tale and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s world-famous music.
The performance invites audiences on a journey filled with fantasy, where the ordinary transforms into the miraculous and imagination becomes the guiding force. Various puppetry techniques, masks, props, lighting, and the actors’ performances will create a visually multi-layered world where unexpected transformations and discoveries are possible.
This concert performance combines the arts of classical music and puppet theater, offering children an aesthetically rich, emotionally captivating, and imagination-stimulating experience.
