JANIS LUSENS is one of the most romantic Latvian contemporary composers, who continues the best Latvian traditions of our solo songs. His cooperation with Ingus Petersons and Kristine Zadovska within the frames of the cycle "A little while ...", as well as the cooperation with Sergey Jaeger in the Latvian poet Aspazija poetry cycle "That word" has been very successful, therefore have gained a significant audience appreciation.
The main task of this Christmas concert is to break down the time boundaries between the past and present, between the childhood dreams and today's reality. Alongside playful and childish musical and poetical expressions the listener will be able to enjoy the feeling of infinity, inherent to the poetry of Poruks. As the composer Janis Lusens emphasizes, "In this particular concert I am willing to create a feeling that everyone is at their home, and to wake a feeling that all people around us are our friends and compatriots, to whom our traditions, history, family roots and its prolongations are the most sacred heritage that we receive and pass further. This sense of community in each of the cities will also be strengthened by the participation of the CHOIR in the final part of the concert, performing my already well-known and appraised songs". Janis Lusens also highlights that "God, faith, hope and love will be named a little during this concert; however, every word and sound will embody a sense of their presence".
