The concert program will feature not only new songs from the band’s latest album but also audience favorites from “Raxtu Raxti” repertoire, offering a multi-layered and emotionally rich musical experience.
The first part of the program will showcase the band’s newest material, which blends the inspiration of Latvian folk music with a contemporary sound, while the second part of the concert will feature songs that have been part of the band’s live performances since its very beginnings.
As the musicians emphasize, “RaxtuRaxti” sound is characterized by four-part singing and a rich array of instruments, which allows them to create both intimate and nuanced as well as energetic musical moods and to appeal to listeners of different generations: “The concert program “Viena saule, viena zeme” is conceived as a musical journey between tradition and the present day, uniting the roots of Latvian folk music with contemporary musical expression.”
The members of the musical ensemble “Raxtu Raxti” are: Kristīne Kārkle-Kalniņa (vocals, violin); Marts Kristiāns Kalniņš (vocals, piano, harmonium, oboe); Edgars Kārklis (vocals, accordion, bagpipes, shawm); Ilze Grunte (12-string guitar); Jānis Bērziņš (guitar, mandolin); Armands Treilihs (bass); Artis Orubs (drums, percussion).
