Hina Maeda is the winner of the 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition 2022, where she grabbed music world attention.

At the competition the Japanese violinist has also received four additional special prizes: best performance of Wieniawski’s concerto; best performance of Wieniawski’s Caprice; best performance of a sonata and best performance of works by Ludwig van Beethoven or Johannes Brahms. 

Hina Maeda was born in 2002 in Osaka and started playing the violin at the age of 4. She is currently continuing her studies at the Tokyo College of Music with a special scholarship.

We are all excited to see how Hina really flourishes, blossoms and begins her journey on the international stage,” said Geoffrey John Davis, founder and director of “The Violin Channel” at the end of the Wieniawski Violin Competition.
