In the exhibited works, metaphor serves not only as the symbolic key to the image, but as an action of the material as well. Fiber paper, felt, soy wax, embroidery, dried plants and other natural elements become conceptual stories embodying the concept of time, fragility, and transformation. The artist combines principles of traditional painting with experimental techniques such as dotting structures, textile interventions, plant weaving and other materials to create a multi-layered visual and tactile space.

In this practice, material is not a passive resource. It is actively involved as a co-creator of the works by inviting into them the cyclicality of nature, the possibility of biodegradation, and its natural volatility. The pieces reveal the tension between fragility and power, the archaic form and one constructed by culture. They offer reflections on the mutual influence of human and nature at an age where eco-consciousness becomes an important dimension of contemporary art.

The exhibition combines paintings, collages and drawings in various stages of the creative process, thus revealing the evolution of the artist’s thought. Many drawings are shown to the public for the first time, revealing the origins of the works – impulses of intuition which later materialize in spatial structures and compositions.

Rubīne’s works contain references both to the iconography of classical painting and to the material practices of contemporary art, creating a dialog between the past and the present. They invite the viewer to experience art as a living organism, a process in which form, material and idea exist in continuous mutual transformation.
