To celebrate the centenary of the Liepāja Opera, Concert Hall Great Amber will host the premiere of The Eternal Fly, an original performance created by composer Jēkabs Nīmanis, director Māra Ķimele, scenographer Reinis Suhanovs, and dramatist Rasa Bugavičute-Pēce.

The musical production tells a story of a fly who once lived in Liepāja – after learning that the average fly only lives for 28 days, she decided to do everything in her powers to become eternal. Following her dream and encountering surprising adventures, the fly enters the enormous Great Amber. Washed ashore the Baltic Sea, it stands tall and is full of such beautiful sound while basking in the sun like honey… What else can offer eternity if not the sun, the sea, music, and friendship?

This heartfelt story will be performed on stage by talented young musicians from the Liepāja Music, Art and Design School, joined by performers Marlēna Keine and Laura Grecka from the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, actor-opera singer Juris Jope and singer Jānis Strazdiņš.
