"At the very peak of summer, the "Great Amber" Concert Hall will step outside its glass facade to meet its listeners—both locals and guests of Liepāja—in the great outdoors. Thanks to the support of the Uniting Foundation and the Development Association of Liepāja Concert Hall Great Amber, everyone is invited to join a musical picnic on July 17 from 19:00 to 21:00 in the square right opposite the concert hall's main entrance.

During the winter season, we welcome listeners inside this temple of music; summer, however, is the perfect moment to let the music open the concert hall's doors and step out to meet its audience. Comfortably settled on a traditional Courland blanket, with a picnic basket of light snacks close at hand, the listener can enjoy the weaving of musical sounds with drifting clouds, the recitatives of seagulls, the chatter of contemporaries, and everything else that defines Liepāja life on a warm, welcoming summer evening. This entire sonic wealth would not be possible without the generous support of the Uniting Foundation and the Development Association of Liepāja Concert Hall Great Amber, and their understanding that the phenomenon of the concert hall lies in the diversity of events and in personally reaching out to every resident of Liepāja through music,” emphasizes Orests Silabriedis, Artistic Director of the "Great Amber" Concert Hall.

During this free open-air event, visitors will be able to experience performances by beloved chamber ensembles of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, including the Liepāja French Horn Quartet, the "Sonore Antiqua" ensemble, the West Coast Trio, a percussion ensemble, and other musical guests, sounding across the city from the concert hall's terrace.

The concert will offer music of various genres and moods—masterpieces of classical music, passionately romantic tango rhythms, as well as well-known songs that make you want to sing along. All of this can be watched and listened to while comfortably settling on the lawn with a blanket and treats brought from home, or sitting at the tables in front of the concert hall.

An hour before the concert begins, at 18:00, café “Čello” will open in the square, accompanied by background music, offering savory and sweet snacks as well as refreshments.

With families in mind, the development platform "YOU+" will provide a variety of creative activities for children and youth both before and during the concert. It will be possible to color coloring pages, make bookmarks, and play "connect the dots". Before the musical program, visitors can also participate in more active games, such as musical chairs, "egg, chicken, dinosaur", the "boo game", "zip, zap, zoo", and similar activities.

We inform visitors that during the event, Radio Street will be closed to traffic in the section from Jēkabs Dubelšteins Street to Jūras Street. In case of bad weather on the day of the event, the concert will be moved indoors—to "Pietura", the open lounge on the 1st floor of the concert hall.

On the day of the event, SIA “Lielais Dzintars” will share information about the upcoming autumn concert program, offering tickets at special promotional prices at the information center's box office. The event "Concert Hall Open-Air. A Musical Picnic" is organized by SIA “Lielais Dzintars” with the support of the Uniting Foundation, the Development Association of Liepāja Concert Hall Great Amber, and the Liepāja State City Municipality.
