The Development Association of Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber” and Local Entrepreneurs Gift the Concert Hall a Digital Organ
In 2025, the Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber” celebrates its 10th anniversary with an ambitious program. A decade filled with unforgettable concerts, artistic projects, and events has enriched the cultural life of Liepāja and Latvia, securing the concert hall a unique place on Europe’s cultural map.
To mark this special anniversary, the concert hall, in cooperation with the Development Association of Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber”, launched a fundraising campaign titled “GIFT AN ORGAN TO THE CONCERT HALL”. The goal was to raise funds for the purchase of a high-quality “Ahlborn Praeludium V” digital organ, which will enhance the concert hall’s acoustic concert offerings and provide new opportunities for both local and guest performers. A total of€25,000was raised for the acquisition of the organ. The organ were delivered from Germany to Liepāja by ferry, thanks to the support of "Stena Line".

The organ is currently one of the best digital organs on the market and was selected with the blessing of world-renowned organist Iveta Apkalna, who remarked:
“Ahlborn organs offer the most balanced combination of artistic quality, technical possibilities, and price. I have found that this instrument sounds the most natural. It would be a tremendous addition and a wonderful gift for Great Amber’s anniversary!”
The organ’s inauguration concert, featuring the world-famous organist Iveta Apkalna, will take place on September 20, 2025 and will be a major highlight of the concert hall’s anniversary celebrations.
